Cooking Class with the author of Veneto in Cucina - Colline di Luce

At Ca’ del Poggio, we invite you on a journey through the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, where vine-covered slopes, quiet country roads, and timeless charm set the scene for something truly unforgettable. This is more than a cooking class — it’s a hands-on adventure into Italian life, led by the renowned cookbook author and culinary expert Luciana Sampogna.

Meet Your Teacher: Luciana Sampogna

Luciana grew up in a Venetian family deeply rooted in tradition, experiencing from an early age the authentic rhythms of Italian life. Her earliest memories are of food as an act of care and resilience — her mother stirring polenta under the summer sun, nurturing both family and tradition with quiet strength.

Her culinary journey has taken her around the world. In 1998, she founded her first cooking school in Auckland, New Zealand, earning international recognition and working with prestigious clients, including the America’s Cup–winning team Alinghi. She later trained chefs aboard the luxury yacht Vava, owned by Swiss entrepreneur Ernesto Bertarelli.

In 2004, she brought her passion to Australia, founding Cucina Italiana in Sydney, now one of the country’s most celebrated Italian cooking schools. Luciana is also an accomplished cookbook author, publishing Light of Lucia (Murdoch Books), collaborating on a cookbook for Vogue Entertaining + Travel, and most recently releasing Veneto in Cucina (SimeBooks, Italy). Classically trained in Bologna under the legendary Simili Sisters, Margherita and Valeria — pioneers of Italy’s first cooking schools alongside Marcella Hazan — Luciana continues to preserve and passionately share Italian regional culinary traditions.

Back in the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, Luciana has come full circle, blending heritage, seasonality, and storytelling into every class, sharing the soul of Venetian cuisine with guests from around the world.

Your Experience

Set in a charming farmhouse, Luciana’s classes are immersive, hands-on, and deeply authentic. Fresh pasta is prepared during the class, laughter fills the stone walls, glasses of local prosecco are raised in a joyful cin cin, and time slows to the rhythm of Italian life.

The Menu

Here, life moves a little differently. Each experience is shaped around you.

We begin with prosecco and a selection of seasonal antipasti, followed by fresh pasta made during the class. You may choose between filled pasta, such as tortelli or casunziei ampezzani, or classic tagliatelle. Sauces and dietary preferences are discussed together and tailored to your needs.

Dessert is also your choice — from the original tiramisù of Treviso, born in this very region, to other traditional sweets.

Luciana loves to hear what inspires you, what your taste buds crave, and to craft an experience that makes your time at Ca’ del Poggio truly memorable.

From the first glass of prosecco to the last shared bite at the table, everything is guided by season, place, and connection.

Join us in the heart of Veneto — where every meal tells a story.
